WW 2 Classmates

Posted by Jolly on November 1, 2011

I had this story forwarded to me by Sieg.  It's a great story of two WW 2 vets finding each other 50 years after the War and then discovering they were actually classmates in grade school.  One was a Red Tail driver and the other a B-17 driver.

It reminds me of a story my Dad would tell about an experience during the battle of Leyte Gulf.  He and his crew were forced to ditch in Leyte Gulf during the amphibious assault, the Navy amphib driver that pulled him out of the water said "hey Paul, how you doing?"  It was a high school classmate that pulled him to safety.  Don't forget to say thanks to this group of veterans, they won't be around much longer for you to thank them personally.

Don't forget your History Maker shirt in the FU Store!
