Life of the Fighter Pilot, Part 7

One of the most difficult things for a fighter pilot to do when he’s in combat is to stay in touch with the real world. In spite of phone calls, letters and e-mails, because the fighter pilot is immersed in a world of extreme tension and life or death struggle he has trouble relating his situation to others and grasping what’s going on outside his combat environment. The following video shows how RAF fighter pilots, even during the dark days of the Battle of Britain, would look for any opportunity to connect to their life away from the stress of warfare.
