You hear a lot about political correctness these days. For the most part, we think people are quite tired of it. Still, plenty of folks are afraid of saying something, with no malicious intent, that may piss off someone else. So they go along with the so-called “approved” catch phrases that seem best to keep them from being confronted by some gender, racial, political or religious zealot.
Political correctness is kind of hard to define. It’s sort of like pornography; you know it when you see it. However, we recently came across a kickass explanation. We’re told it comes from a competition at Texas A & M University, where that exact question was asked; what is political correctness? Here’s the winning entry.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
