God Bless America - Happy 4th

Posted by Jolly on July 4, 2013

God Bless America was written by Irving Berlin during WW 1 and revised by him in 1938.  The performance by Kate Smith is timeless, not jazzed up, and just as pure today as it was then.  Songs like this express everything that's great about America.  We are the most generous nation on earth when it comes to protecting freedom.  As much as our politically correct leaders try to remove God from our lives, we are a nation that understands our freedom comes from God and is protected by our brave men and women who serve.  Happy 4th from FU.

I grew up listening to Kate Smith sing "God Bless America" at the Flyer's games. The Flyer's record when she sang was absolutely incredible - almost undefeated!
It has and always will be my favorite AMERICAN patriotic song.

Flounder,
Thanks for visiting the site. I agree, Kate's the best when it comes to singing this like it should be sung.
