Tales That I Can Tell
By Dick Jonas

Oh, Lord, I got tales that I can tell

Oh, Lord, what it's like down in Hell

Oh, Lord, I got tales that I can tell

I got tales that I can tell, oh, Lord

I know what it's like to sit and wait

I know misery of unknown fate

Don't know whether I'll come back today

I got tales that I can tell, oh, Lord

I feel loneliness and fear and pain

I've seen brave and daring deeds insane

I've seen blood flow but not in vain

I got tales that I can tell, oh, Lord

I've felt down deep within my heart

I've seen, mother's sons blown apart

I've seen, Satins wicked fiery darts

I've got tales that I can tell, Oh Lord

I've seen fire and thunder in the sky

I've known men who weren’t afraid to die

I've seen men take Eagles wings and fly

I've got tales that I can tell, Oh Lord

Oh, Lord, I got tales that I can tell

Oh, Lord, what it's like down in Hell

Oh, Lord, I got tales that I can tell

I got tales that I can tell, oh, Lord

From Stambo:

Flew in RF-4B, and F-4C---a hoot. I liked to listen to them taxi by:
howl intakes like a banshee; and exhaust like thunder.

I've just recently joined the site. I trust it will be alright for an old Navy attack pilot to contribute once in a while. For this time I would like to make a request: Does anyone out there have, or know the whereabouts, of any ballads written by a FAC in the 23rd TASS (NAILS). I did a short stint with them in 1970. There were some really well done ballads concerning the war. One title that I remember was "Bloody Ban Karai". I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who knows something about this. Also, I enjoyed the one posted here.

Thanks,
Jetjock
