Invade the Kiwis

New Zealand use to have fighter pilots.  They use to have fighter jets.  In fact, I flew with these guys back in the 80's.  They were flying A-4 Skyhawks, they were young (some pilots were only 19 years old), were a hell of a lot fun, and they were damn good. But, no more.  Here's what can occur when a country lets that happen.

Back in the day, these guys set the bar for low altitude flying.  Trying to take a look down missile shot on a Kiwi A-4 was a pipe dream.  Even if the missile guided, it would have fuzed on the ground first.

I was the first USAF exchange officer to the RNZAF. Flew A-4Ks with the Kiwis for 2 ½ years from 1974-1976 after flying A-7s at Myrtle Beach from 70-74. Received the UK Air Force Cross for landing an A-4 at night at Williamtown Australia with total hydraulic failure. That exchange tour was a paid vacation!!!!!!!!!
