Robin Old’s was the ultimate fighter pilot. This clip from the history channel verifies he's an FU Badass. He manages to down two German 109’s (out numbered 25 to 1), not hit the ground in a high speed dive, then overshoot a third 109 and splash three in one day. The grin on his face as he describes the engagement says it all!

I have the privilege of living outside of a small town in western Missouri. The town is Holden and it is much like the town I grew up in located in central Kansas. The people here are genuine and their belief system intact. I have lived here with my family for about eight years and have made some kickass friends that are “lifers”. Darrin worked at a gun store that I wrote about a few years ago and decided to open up his own joint right on the north edge of Holden in a building owned by another great American who goes by “Tiger Jack”. If you disparage the Missouri Tigers in front of him… you’ll know how he got HIS name. In any case, the gun store is about the coolest place you’ll ever walk into. The theme and their deep belief in our country is true to form of a store everyone will be proud to buy their guns from. Check out the pictures in this article and I’m sure you will want to travel to Holden to get your fire arms as well.

I have that baby under my bed loaded with buckshot just in case a bandito decides casa de Borg looks like a good choice for theft or buffoonery. The buckshot is a little expensive and might be overkill but when there’s a job to be done, why not it right.

My gun inventory is expanding rapidly and I’m thinking of taking up golf as well. Tiger Jack owns an 18 hole, sand green course next door to the gun Mecca called “Red Neck Country Club”. What could be better in the world outside of flying and sex than having a kickass gun buying experience followed by a round of golf with some of the best Americans known to man. You can also throw in a game of horseshoes and washers to complete the Redneck Olympics for the day and have a brew with Jack before heading home knowing you spent your time and money wisely. Subject: Good fighter pilot story: Kill'em and Eat'em

This came from a gent who runs a 2000 acre corn farm up around Barron,

WI, not far from Oshkosh. He used to fly F-4Es and F-16s for the Guard

and participated in the first Gulf War.

His Story:

I went out to plant corn for a bit to finish a field before tomorrow

morning and witnessed The Great Battle. A golden eagle - big, with about

a six foot wingspan - flew right in front of the tractor. It was being

chased by three crows that were continually dive bombing it and pecking

at it. The crows do this because the eagles rob their nests when they

find them.

At any rate, the eagle banked hard right in one evasive maneuver, then

landed in the field about 100 feet from the tractor. This eagle stood

about 3 feet tall. The crows all landed too, and took up positions

around the eagle at 120 degrees apart, but kept their distance at about

20 feet from the big bird. The eagle would take a couple steps towards

one of the crows and they'd hop backwards and forward to keep their

distance. Then the reinforcement showed up.

I happened to spot the eagle's wingman hurtling down out of the sky at what

appeared to be approximately Mach 1.5. Just before impact the eagle on

the ground took flight, (obviously a coordinated tactic; probably

pre-briefed) and the three crows which were watching the grounded eagle,

also took flight thinking they were going to get in some more pecking on

the big bird.

The first crow being targeted by the diving eagle never stood a

snowball's chance in hell. There was a mid-air explosion of black

feathers and that crow was done. The diving eagle then banked hard left

in what had to be a 9G climbing turn, using the energy it had

accumulated in the dive, and hit crow #2 less than two seconds later.

Another crow dead.

The grounded eagle, which was now airborne and had an altitude advantage

on the remaining crow, which was streaking eastward in full burner, made

a short dive then banked hard right when the escaping crow tried to

evade the hit. It didn't work - crow #3 bit the dust at about 20 feet AGL.

This aerial battle was better than any air show I've been to, including

the war birds show at Oshkosh. The two eagles ripped the crows apart and

ate them on the ground, and as I got closer and closer working my way

across the field, I passed within 20 feet of one of them as it ate its

catch. It stopped and looked at me as I went by and you could see in the

look of that bird that it knew who's Boss Of The Sky. What a beautiful bird!

I loved it. Not only did they kill their enemy, they ate them. One of

the best Fighter Pilot stories I've seen in a long time.

Periodically Borg, Rowdy, and I have bitch sessions about the PC world we live in and wonder if the era of the "Fighter Pilot" is coming to an end. Then something happens to give us hope. Recently, two Boy Scouts proved that we have a very bright future with young testosterone filled alpha males waiting in the wings to fill our shoes. We can pass the torch to future fighter pilots like these and know we've left our craft in good hands! Sierra Foxtrot Hotel gentlemen.

Some Eagle Stuff

Here's some kickass video, actually just a bit from Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag. Good Eagle and Strike Eagle footage with some soothing, yet kickass music. Just a couple questions.

Why does the Eagle dude drop his mask, yell and pump his fist in triumph at about the 3:35 point? It appears to me that he and/or his Eagles got jumped about six times during this clip with an Aggressor F-16 just about camped at their six. Flares looked nice but other than that not much to get excited about.

Why, upon return to Nellis, does the tower controller say, "Welcome to Nellis"? Hey, dumbass, he just left there an hour and a half ago. Holy shit, you got a strip right in front of you that shows exactly that. Just a little irritant.

Very Low Rhino

You may have seen this video as part of a compilation of low passes. However, you might not have taken the time to see just how low this guy is going. Three passes, kind of warming up; yawn, sweet and, the inevitable, holy shit!

The third pass is quite kickass. Once you can break the F-4 out from the back ground terrain, that alone tells you just how low he is, watch the guys on the ground, especially the ones on the mound of dirt. On one of these low passes, when folks start to run and duck, you know that's low but, still, way kickass!
