Real Americans

2009 Sturgis logoAs I get older I am less likely to give a shit about fringe groups and their view on America. I find myself moving toward the “non tolerance for bullshit” way of life that I was raised to believe. I believe rugged individualism, hard work, patriotism of the John Wayne type and free spirited disdain for government intervention define my way of life. This has been the fighter pilot way, for the most part, since I’ve had the privilege to be a part of this great fraternity. We see the converse reaching into society and our pockets every day and it disgusts me. Sometimes we need an attitude adjustment so we spend that Friday night at the bar for beer call with the bros or we take that cross country for the politically incorrect weekend of humor.

Sturgis, South Dakota

Sturgis girlI recently got back from the world’s biggest biker rally in Sturgis. Humorously, it was the “69th” which added to the off colored attitude of the event. More importantly, I saw the American spirit prevalent in all that were there. More American flags and national pride you will never find. These people have the “don’t tread on me” attitude at all times. I don’t care whether it is a hard core “no shit” biker or the weekend businessman rider; the one thing they all had in common was a love of their country and the fellowship of knowing they were in a group of people that all felt the same. One of my favorite slogans at the rally is an American flag with the statement below it saying “try burning this one asshole”. It was on biker’s vests, car and cycle bumper stickers, and signs everywhere. With pleasure, I got the distinct feeling, as I had growing up in central Kansas, that if some asshole tried to debate that issue or more stupidly, tried to exercise their “right” to make a statement by burning a flag at this event; they would end up in a dumpster. Fortunately, for the common, one each, liberal maggot; no one of that ilk tried to exercise their right to “free speech and assembly” in this crowd. It’s funny how the “brave flag burners” speak out when they know they won’t get their asses kicked.
If by chance one of the cowards of the left bent toward burning flags and speaking ill of our country happen to be reading this; come on up to Sturgis next year and prove me wrong. God knows you’ve probably got the time as you take my tax dollars to free load by not supporting yourself, so jump in to your green car and come exercise your right to an ass whipping. It will be great fun for all.
Sturgis is one of the last events left where America is the America I grew up in. If you get a chance to attend, FU highly recommends going. You won’t be disappointed.
